Papa: The Choir’s Number One Fan!

We sent Papa, my father in law, to his final resting place yesterday. I cried a lot, I just can’t hold my sadness over the thought that he will not be with us anymore. Though I found comfort knowing that wherever he is right now, he is in peace and is really resting from all the pain.

I belong to a choir, I and my brother in law Andy established seven years ago. Now the group is composed of family members and close friends. We gave papa the nightly prayers and melodious songs he used to enjoy. Papa used to attend our 9am Sunday mass and was keen on listening to us on our every Saturday song practices, he was our number fan. I can imagine papa’s very wide smiles while were singing his favorite songs of praise on his funeral mass. Andy plays the organ, while my tears were falling while singing with the rest of the group.

I have been talking to the group about my little projects. My first project is dressing the choir, I hope it become successful. Next in line would be additional musical instruments. I have been eyeing some musical instruments at shopwiki, they have wide arrays of musical instruments I’d like the group to have someday. I’d like the choir to decide on what instruments to add to further improve our music. I know we need some drum sets and flutes. I am still thinking on who would play the trumpets.

No More Pain

Papa my FIL is now in heaven.

He has been in pain for so long, he has to rest now. The family is getting strength from one another and from all the thoughts of those who love. My heart even though breaking with the thought of a great loss for the family is also exultant that somehow papa is in a much better place now.

I will miss him so much. Please help me pray that my husband and the rest of the family can hang on to our faith and move on with the thought that papa may not be with us physically but always in spirit.

Thank you very much for all the thoughts.

It might be blogging leave for me and work leave for all of us for the next couple of days.. Again thank you for all the comforting words.

July 27 Farewell SONA will be GREAT; Palace Says

President Arroyo will deliver her ninth and final SONA on July 27 in the midst of fears that her cronies in the House of Representatives would insist on arranging a Senate-less constituent assembly to amend the current Constitution and probably extend her stay in power.

Palace says that the FAREWELL SONA of the president would be great! She has conducted the initial “rehearsal” for her SONA and the Palace people have responded with enthusiasm. Ms Arroyo already read the first draft of her speech in the presence of Cabinet members, who applauded her.

Palace spoke person Olivar said the speech was “a work in progress” and could still include issues or events happening between now and July 27.

It might be really that ‘GREAT!’

Am still not excited to watch.

MY FIL

Papa, my father in law, is in the ICU right now. Papa has been courageously fighting for his life after his two heart strokes in the past.

I firmly believed that when we ask, we shall receive, and when we ask as a community, our prayers will be answered with much certainty. Please help our family pray for my papa's speedy recovery.

We leave everything in God's hands now but i know in the bottom of my crying heart that this too shall pass. I just want to make papa feel that he is not alone in this battle he fights.

Tips to Lose Weight

Follow these five simple steps and you will be heading to a Slimmer You in just a few days!

Drink Lots of Water
Water can be the best answer to all our health problems. The healing power of water can clean the body inside and out. It can be a great factor in eliminating the waste products and flushing away toxins inside our body. If you’re drinking lots of water more often, the body will have a pattern of storing it and you are now teaching your body that he doesn’t need to store much of it. Water retention equals unwanted weight. If you want you can have some fresh fruit juices for your satisfaction.

Eat Early
The stomach digests food faster when we are still awake. If you eat late and sleep at once, the food you have eaten will not be digested well and will be converted into fats. It will be safe if we eat our dinner 6 pm so that it’s already digested when we sleep.

Eat lightly
It is obviously that the smaller we eat the easier to digest. It is also good that we eat lightly every two hour after meal so that our hunger will not be so intense. The hungrier you get, the more you will eat.

Balance your diet
Our diet should have a balance of organic sources of lean protein, complex carbohydrates, whole grains, legumes, nuts, fruits, and vegetables. Instead of white rice and pasta, opt for brown rice, bulgur, millet, or buckwheat. Green leafy vegetables and fruits are always good in our health. Avoid fatty salty and processed foods because some of it adds toxins in our body.

Exercise more frequent
Lack of exercise is the main reason we are gaining lots of weight. Exercise helps speeding up our metabolism and burning excess calories. It also strengthens our muscles and adds beauty to our figure. Walking is the best exercise but if we are trying to lose more weight then we should exert more effort to a more active exercise like basketball or badminton.

Ivanka Trump Engaged to Jared Kushner

It was the tweet from Ivanka Trump, daughter of the real estate mogul Donald Trump that made the buzz around the internet now. Donald’s lovely daughter is now engaged to her boyfriend of two years Jared Kushner, the owner of New York Observer.

“I got engaged last night ... truly the happiest day of my life!!!” Trump tweeted

Though there are rumors that Donald Trump isn’t happy with her daughter’s choice because of Jared’s Dad Charles 2005 stint in jail for violations of tax and campaigne-finance laws, Trump tells US Magazine that he is very happy about their engagement. And further added that the two make a magnificent couple.

Remember PUMP up the JAM by TECHNOTRONIC?

This was one of the songs I listen to over and over again on the disc man my mother bought me on my eight birthday. The lyrics and the beat I entirely remember even after 20 years! Pump up the Jam! ;)

On a side note here’s a little info on Technotronic: Source

Technotronic was a studio-based Belgian music project formed by Jo Bogaert in 1988, who had already made his musical mark in the beginning of the 1980s as a part of a cover band and as a solo artist under various new beat projects, including The Acts of Madmen and Nux Nemo.

Together with Ya Kid K (born Manuela Barbara Kamosi Moaso Djogi, 1972, Kinshasa, DR Congo), he produced the hit single "Pump Up the Jam" which was originally an instrumental. An image for the act was later put together utilizing Zairian-born fashion model Felly Kilingi as its album/single cover art and supposed singer in the music video.

The song became an unexpected international smash, eventually hitting #2 on the USA's Hot 100 in late 1989/ 1990, the first-ever house record to break through to the pop mainstream.

Here's the video, i know you will recall PUMP UP THE JAM now with this! :)

Bataan Death March

What i love about history is that it serves well as a lesson to humanity. I have read many times before about Bataan Death March and i am so excited to get a copy of this book written by two authors.

“Tears in the Darkness: The Story of the Bataan Death March and its Aftermath” is said to be worked on for ten years by Michael Norman and Elizabeth Norman and includes interviews with survivors of the Bataan Death March from the Philippines and the United States as well as soldiers from Japan.

The book was launched at the Library of Congress last July 10, 2009.

Blank

This picture was taken last saturday. My daughter looked so tired and not feeling well but still managed to amused her godparents at Manila.

She is still sick as i report to work today. How i wish i win the lottery already so i can be with her 24/7. I just can't focus on my work when my mind is running wild on how she is doing home with her granny.

Miss her all the time. Sigh.

Paris Jackson Photos

Curious about how Michael Jackson's daughter behaves considering she is an ultimate unica hija of a Superstar Dad, i searched the net and found out that this little charming girl is very polite and a little reserved. Source

I like her photo here, she is just so sweet comforting her little brother Blanket. With her in the picture are her famous aunts Janet Jackson and La Toya Jackson.

I love her eyes. As if they are talking.. Here with her brothers Prince Michael and Blanket.

Regine Velasquez recovers from Influenza A(H1N1) Virus

Asia's Songbird Regine Velasquez and Boyfriend Ogie Alcasid

Apparently, the Songbird cancelled all her schedule on the last week of June because she got the H1N1 virus. She wasn’t able to guest at Charice Pempengco’s concert last June 27 at SMX Convention Center and was not seen at the cast party of Totoy Bato.

But she was able to pull through and is now promoting her upcoming two-night concert entitled Most Requested at Skydome in SM North Edsa on August 1 and 8.

Rumor has it that she will be the wedding singer on Michelle’s wedding this November in Australia. For those who don’t know, Michelle Van Eimeren was the representative of Australia for the 1994 Miss Universe beauty pagent held here in the Philippines. She is the ex wife of Ogie Alcasid, who is Regine’s current beau!

Is the body of Michael Jackson Missing?

There are rumors circulating the net that the body of Michael Jackson is missing. Some say that the brain of Michael Jackson was removed by LA Coroner’s office to investigate the exact cause of Michael Jackson’s death. And that the brain would not be buried with Michael Jackson’s body. Source

Another report is that his body was missing from the casket at the Staples Center Memorial Service. If that is so, how come there was a very strict security during the live memorial coverage at Staples Center?

Some reports said that his body has already been cremated while it was thought at the beginning that his body will be buried at Neverland Ranch.

Now to set the record straight, ABC News has confirmed that the body of Michael Jackson is not missing. The body is being held at the Forest Lawn Cemetery. The next step is to finalize the final resting place for Michael Jackson’s body; whether it will stay at the Forest Lawn Cemetery or it will be buried at the Neverland Ranch.

A bed of roses sits atop Michael Jackson's golden casket. Source

July 27 is NOT a HOLIDAY!

July 27 a working holiday, Palace clarifies
By Christian V. Esguerra

First Posted 13:27:00 07/08/2009

MANILA, Philippines -- Malacañang clarified on Wednesday that the Iglesia Ni Cristo Day it declared for July 27 would be a special "working" holiday.

Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita made the clarification after the Palace on Tuesday issued conflicting statements about the holiday.

One statement said July 27 would be a "non-working" holiday while another one said it would be a "working" holiday.

In making the declaration, Malacañang said it was recognizing the INC’s role not only in the spiritual and moral formation of its followers but also the church’s contributions to nation-building.

July 27 is the INC’s founding anniversary.

The INC has been known to deliver a solid bloc of votes to national candidates whom it deems fit to be in public
I should be rejoicing UNTIL this news came out. Really disappointing. Thank you very much. :(

Paris Jackson Speaks on Michael Jackson Memorial

AND I feel like crying too. My prayer really goes out to Michael Jackson's children and his family. Losing someone you love is the hardest. Rest in peace MJ!

State of the Nation Address 2009 and Iglesia ni Cristo Anniversary falls on the same day!

I heard in the news this morning that there will be like 3000 policemen who will secure the HOuse of Representatives in Quezon City for the July 27, 2009 SONA of the President of the Philippines Gloria Macapagal Arroyo. It might be her last SONA - that is if she will not run again for office. I don’t know with you but I am allergic to politics so I might leave it at that.

What can be of good news to a worker like me is that – it falls on the same day with the Iglesia ni Cristo Founding Anniversary and it has been proclaimed yesterday that it will be a non working holiday! Good news yeah?

Iglesia ni Cristo Day a non-working holiday
By Christian V. Esguerra
Philippine Daily Inquirer
First Posted 20:07:00 07/07/2009

MANILA, Philippines -- President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has designated a special day for the Iglesia ni Cristo, a church denomination often approached by politicians seeking its so-called bloc support in elections.

Arroyo declared July 27 as “Iglesia ni Cristo Day,” a non-working holiday commemorating the founding anniversary of the sect.

“President Arroyo wishes to congratulate in advance the INC, at present under the stewardship of Executive Minister Eraño Manalo and Deputy Executive Minister Eduardo Manalo, on this year’s landmark anniversary,” Malacañang said in a statement.

“Likewise, the President wishes to thank the INC for the very active and significant roles its leaders and members have always played not only in the spiritual and moral formation of our people over the past several decades, but in nation-building as well,” the Palace said.

I guess I have no choice but to watch the SONA – I badly need lots of sleep, I know the long talk of GMA will help me sleep faster! ;)

It must have been the longest night

Is he thinking about me? Like a teenager I was staring at our ceiling last night, thinking about him. I wonder if he’s thinking of me too, but one thing’s for sure I know he’s thinking of our daughter. I know how busy he must have been and he must be really tired to even call back. I fell to sleep after forcing myself to read, thank God.

It must have been the longest night ever when my husband is away. I know I sound so stupid to count the hours considering he will just be a way for three days. But how I wish it’s already Thursday now.

I was smiling sheepishly last night while my mother tucked me and my daughter to sleep. She is not used to seeing us all by ourselves, which is without a man in the house. She reminded me over and over again to check the locks in our door. I was laughing on how someone would try to break in, considering our door is well locked and secured husband made it sure it has to be that way. He must have gotten that brilliant idea from the Atlanta locksmith, they must be really the best coz I feel so safe by the thought. All I have been missing is the man of the house that used to kiss us good night. This has been the longest night without him by our side.

An article that made me cried today.

I cried. Tears of joy and overflowing gratitude to the place I called my home.

I am always proud to say that I came from the Sisters of Mary School, I was nurtured and loved for four years on that four walls by the nuns who loved me as if their own. I will never be where I am now if not because of that saintly priest Father Al, who founded that institution in 1985 for the poorest of the poor, whom I would forever hold dear in my grateful heart.

I am in tears as of writing. But you can’t blame me. As ecstatic as I was reading this very touching article of the school where I came from, it brought me back to those four years I called the Sisters of Mary School my HOME.

I am proud to say – I was one of those girls!

The day they sang ‘God Bless America’
By Chelo Banal-Formoso
Philippine Daily Inquirer
First Posted 21:05:00 07/05/2009

FROM the where the guests have been invited to stand, one can see the perfect lines formed by the girls, perhaps over 3,000 of them. Only discipline can make lines like these.

And then – their voices strong, their hand movements synchronized, looking like they are lit from within – they sing. God bless America, land that I love. Stand beside her and guide her, through the night with the light from above. From the mountains to the prairies, to the ocean white with foam, God bless America, my home sweet home.

A choreography of emotions and amazing grace, the rendition moves Kristie Anne Kenney to tears. Even the non-Americans among the guests are misty-eyed.

The girls are all in uniforms of blue and white. Marian colors. In this live-in high school founded in 1985 by Msgr. Aloysius Schwartz, reading is highly valued, but so is moral and spiritual formation. The girls are taught to live a life of simplicity, charity, gratitude and joy. Marian virtues.

None of these kids is holding an iPod or a Sony Ericsson phone or any such cool gadget for teens these days. That’s because these girls, and their fellow scholars at SOM Boystown (not to be confused with the facility for juvenile delinquents), come from dirt-poor families of Luzon and Palawan (Visayas and Mindanao are served by the SOM schools in Cebu).

At Girlstown and Boystown, they are given free education, room and board, medical and dental services, not to mention heaps of hope.

Muchas Gracias!

I received a total of 4 awards last week. Weeeh! They love me, don't they? Well i have to thank 5 things in the blogging world today.

No. 1 Thank you Kittykat for this Spread the LOVE award! Yes, let us spread LOVE not hate!
No. 2 Thank you so much Cecille for this Perky Blogger Award. Thank you for always including me in your list of awardees!

No.3 Thank you Dee for this Lovely Blog Award! Keep blogging, i love reading your thoughts! Also my ever sweeet friend Kikamz from Germany passed this award to me, thanks so much my dear! Hugs to you!

NO.4 To my sister Meryl for this Most Promising Blog Award! Thanks for visiting me always!

No. 5 I have been missing her and blogging is not the same without her! Thank you Lord for keeping her safe all this time while she's away. Welcome back my dearest Nancy! We terribly missed you mare!

Finally, i will be connected soon!

We made a very big decision last Friday. Alright, it’s not that big. Since Digitel is our only choice for an internet connection at home, we decided to get their service even if they are charging us another $24 for wiring extension cost of 100meters. Husband and I opt to have our application cancelled because of that additional fee BUT we decided to just pay for it and try their service.

There is no guarantee yet that the connection would be fast but what I need is connection. At least a connection to browse or just blog at home is what I really wanted. Luckily husband is becoming an enthusiastic blogger so he lets me be! He wishes to earn just like I do and would like to save for that LCD TV he has been dreaming for so long!

Now is the waiting time for the contractors to install the wiring. My mother is at home with Yena waiting for the contractors, I just hope they turn up today! If only digitel gets the services of San Francisco general contractors, the installation might not take more than a week! They give quality work at a great price I know every project will turn out well!

Happy 4th of July!

If the digitel connection will not go well as planned I won’t have connection tom at home, 4th of July! But it will be a HAPPY day still because its weekend!

That's my daughter last night on our playing time! She's imitating the johnson's soap commercial on TV.. Trees, mountain.. and that's her MOUNTAIN alright!! :)

Advance Happy 4th of July! to all my blogging friends in the US.
Happy Weekend everyone!

Stay Calm

STAY CALM. That is what i TRIED so HARD while dialing DIGITEL’s numerous landline numbers. I have 5 numbers and I got no ANSWER!

Help me God am getting furious already.

I had paid the installation fee and advance first month’s monthly service fee last Saturday and they promised to have it installed the next day. One week has passed and I still have no connection at home and im getting very disappointed.

I am beginning to dislike DIGITEL.

My Answers to Personality Test

Thank you so much Amy and Fedhz for tagging me.. I had fun! :)

The Rules:

1. Open this website : Personality Test
2. Take the Personality Quiz (It’s very short and easy really! )
3. Copy paste the result to your blog.
4. Tag as many friends you can and link to the friend who tagged you!

So here's the result of my Personality Test:

Your view on yourself:
You are intelligent, honest and sweet. You are friendly to everybody and don't like conflict. Because you're so cheerful and fun people are naturally attracted to you and like to talk to you. (It's sooo NOT me! LOL)

The type of girlfriend/boyfriend you are looking for:
You are a true romantic. When you are in love, you will do anything and everything to keep your love true. (running away home for LOVE! pwede)

Your readiness to commit to a relationship:
You are ready to commit as soon as you meet the right person. And you believe you will pretty much know as soon as you meet that person. (found YOBIB! true!)

The seriousness of your love:
You like to flirt (LOL, i don't know how!!) and behave seductively. The opposite sex finds this very attractive, and that's why you'll always have admirers hanging off your arms (hahah, FALSE!). But how serious are you about choosing someone to be in a relationship with?

Your views on education:
Education is less important than the real world out there, away from the classroom. Deep inside you want to start working, earning money and living on your own. (Aw, i dunno.)

The right job for you:
You're a practical person and will choose a secure job with a steady income. Knowing what you like to do is important. Find a regular job doing just that and you'll be set for life. (Maybe true.)

How do you view success:
You are confident that you will be successful in your chosen career and nothing will stop you from trying. (Hahah! Doubt it! I don't know if i answered it right!)

What are you most afraid of:
You are concerned about your image and the way others see you. This means that you try very hard to be accepted by other people. It's time for you to believe in who you are, not what you wear. (Ay BONGGA! Is this really me??!)

Who is your true self:
You are mature (this is really not me!), reasonable (doubt it!), honest and give good advice (naaah, got it wrong!). People ask for your comments on all sorts of different issues. Sometimes you might find yourself in a dilemma when trapped with a problem, which your heart rather than your head needs to solve.

So now am tagging everybody in my blog list. Enjoy! :)

Maria Belen Chapur Photo

I read it at my husband’s blog last week and I was taken aback. Mark Stanford, the 43 year old Governor of South Carolina has a mistress. But the identity was not being known before, the mistress was only known as MARIA. I find Mark Stanford’s love letter to his mistress so intriguing so I gave in to my curiosity and tried to find out what does the mistress looks like. So here is her only photo i got from searching the internet.
It was said that Mark Stanford and Maria Belen Chapur began dating online at least 8-years-ago. Their relationship became romantic some time in 2008. Maria Belen Chapur lives in Palermo quarter of the Argentine capital, and is said to be separated from her husband. Maria Chapur is said to be a fitness buff and earlier worked as a TV journalist for VIVO TV Argentina.

Picture below is Mark Stanford and his wife Jenny Stanford. Now, my heart goes out to his wife. I feel for her coz am a wife too! Reading a love letter of your husband to another woman is like marching down to hell..
