Ready to Gamble

I have a light heart since the day I made peace with my favorite BIL. I hope he isn’t reading though. I am quite shy to tell this to him in person, hahah.

Husband told me I made him happiest when I finally was able to forgive his brother, aw. And I was happiest too. It’s such a joy to make peace with everyone. No more hurt feelings, no more dark clouds and no more burning bridges.

Anyways, because I am so happy and I cannot contain my happiness I decided to share the joy that I am feeling right now – to the choir! So I ordered for another set of new uniforms for them, yahoooo. It’s supposed to be a surprise but since I need to confirm their sizes it won’t be a surprise anymore, lol. I hope no one from the choir reads this, oh husband is an exemption, am sure he will be surprised while reading this, lol. But I already ordered, no return no exchange. Hahah.

Hope my online earnings can cover this sudden expenditures hahah. But if my online earnings will not be able to pay those uniforms I have no choice but to try my luck on online gambling. Shhhhh.

Going Solo

I have been serving the music ministry in our parish for eight long years now. Husband is now the musician while his brother, my favorite BIL, is on leave. But BIL is coming back soon, so husband will still be the guitarist and still be on bass group.

Eight long years and for that span of time, I haven’t tried singing on solo. I belong to any group, soprano or alto to fill in when someone is absent. You think I sing well? I don’t think so! I can sing with the group but when I try to sing on solo, my voice runs out. Stage fright, nervousness, fear: mixed emotions of a trying hard singer like me.

But husband has been requesting me to sing Hangad. I love that song so much. Husband said I can sing it well every time we practice AT HOME. BUT I do not have the same confidence to sing outside of the house.. I am so afraid.

You know I always give in to husband’s every request. So if you happen to pass by our parish one Sunday at 9am, please bear with my trembling voice.

Heaven Sent

I never thought someone i just knew would be such a big blessing not only to me but to the whole choir. My Dress the Choir Project is synonymous to success, that's why am smiling like there's no tomorrow. Thank you so much Mareng Seiko for the $50 donations! This is really a surprise! You got me today! Thanks and God bless you more! It is my first time to ask for donations, I am really shy type in person and i won't ask for help only if there are lots of opps available. Am planning to have lots of project using my blogging money, I know the Lord will help me. But my first project seemed not moving so i decided to ask for cents from the blogging world. I prayed for $50 donations and GOD gave me a total of $105.45! Thank you Lord!

Thank you to all the donors of my very first project for our choir:

Ghie, Yobib, Glenda, Umma, Rose, Kikamz, Ria, and Seiko!

May God continue to bless you all!

God Bless You More!

When it rains, it pours! My Dress the Choir Project has a total amount of $60.93 already! I have been praying for a total donation of $50 only, i know this amount will be enough for the group of 12 people! But looks like its been raining lately and it is really pouring! Yeheey! The choir will have their uniform on the next few weeks to come!

Thanks God for these lovely and generous people. To my very pretty Mareng Umma who sent me $20 in my paypal this morning. Thank you mare for always being there and for all the support!
To my very dear friend Rose who just surprised me with a $4 at my paypal today! Thank you so much Mare! Happy Anniversary to you and John!
To Kikamz who again and again showed how much she loves me and sent me $5 at my paypal today. Kamz thank you very much!
To Ria who surprised me with a $5 to my paypal today (Aug 12). Thank you very much sweetie! You are always the sweetest! Mwah mwah
To my ever gorgeous sister in blogging world Glenda who donated $10 yesterday, thank you very much ganda! Am so touched with your gestures of love.

God Bless You More!
PS:
The excess donations will be for our sound system's needs! We need additional microphones! Each choir has their own sets of sound systems in our parish, and we acquire our own sound systems through donations a long time ago! ;) Thank you very much to all!

Papa: The Choir’s Number One Fan!

We sent Papa, my father in law, to his final resting place yesterday. I cried a lot, I just can’t hold my sadness over the thought that he will not be with us anymore. Though I found comfort knowing that wherever he is right now, he is in peace and is really resting from all the pain.

I belong to a choir, I and my brother in law Andy established seven years ago. Now the group is composed of family members and close friends. We gave papa the nightly prayers and melodious songs he used to enjoy. Papa used to attend our 9am Sunday mass and was keen on listening to us on our every Saturday song practices, he was our number fan. I can imagine papa’s very wide smiles while were singing his favorite songs of praise on his funeral mass. Andy plays the organ, while my tears were falling while singing with the rest of the group.

I have been talking to the group about my little projects. My first project is dressing the choir, I hope it become successful. Next in line would be additional musical instruments. I have been eyeing some musical instruments at shopwiki, they have wide arrays of musical instruments I’d like the group to have someday. I’d like the choir to decide on what instruments to add to further improve our music. I know we need some drum sets and flutes. I am still thinking on who would play the trumpets.

4AM Midnight Mass

Hubby and I went to simbang gabi (midnight mass) just before dawn this morning. Our first ever attendance to simbang gabi for this year. Our choir is scheduled for two rows to sing on that novena mass, so instead of nagging and begging hubby for a longer sleeping hours, I braced myself to take a shower. Oh boy, i cant stand cold weather, I felt like am a frozen chicken on the shower.. I just wanted to get through as soon as possible! Now that leads me to thinking, if there were snow here in the Philippines, what would I possibly look like?? LOL

Rushing not to be late on the mass proper, we walk and run to get to the church on time, and oh the joy of having a husband to embrace you while walking on a very cold street.. ;)

Not my first time to see people outside at 330AM and i wonder again; I don’t know if other churches are like ours, lots of people are lining up outside, lots of vendors and lots of different noises too! Fiesta atmosphere really it is! I wondered where did they get all the energy on that so early morning.. If it is not a mass, I wont be getting my butt up.. I miss sleeping already. Hahah

Oh well, that is all for today, coz it will be another simbang gabi tomorrow, it is a must once again to sleep and rise earlier, take a frozen bath, endure cold weather outside and sing my heart out! Wish me luck.. to take a bath! LOL

easy as sunday morning

every sunday morning, if you live near where we live, you would always woke up with the same noise of people hurrying, kids running here and there, and sounds of frying pans cooking breakfast as if endlessly.. it has been a ritual already. sunday mornings were spent at the church by the whole family! and nobody is allowed to be late - 9am is sacred hour!

what excites me most at the church is the whole time we would be singing. like a duet, hubby and i would share at one of the microphones. our old singing group whose previous members were friends from sisters of mary, an highschool alumni, is now composed of solid group of relatives and friends. siblings, cousins, very close friends and a couple (that's me and hubby! - ahem). :D

it has been six years since we started our choir, old members were now all over the globe and now have different sets of priorities. years back, we would sing at wedding ceremonies and sing/pray at funerals. and no matter how hard it is to gather 5 or more members at the same time for saturday night practice, my husband and i, and the rest of the group are glued to it. it is a common wish that on the years to come, we would be singing with our children in tow!

and we sung a good song

mula first year highschool member na ko ng choir. kaya noong 3rd year ako, i decided to stop. ayoko na pong magpakyut, kumanta, kumendeng kendeng at mag close up smile sa stage. siguro im reaching adolescence stage, mahiyain na ko noon.

one time nung 3rd year ako, naglibot ang isang madre at namili ng mga bata, isa ako sa nalista at napaging ang pangalan. hayun, kakanta ulit. di ko na carry pero dahil masunurin go na lang ako. and then ate sheng a week ago reminded me na dun kami nagkasama.. kumanta at nagpakyut sa mga bisita. looking back, its not that bad. kasi as i recall now it brings joy to my heart. and it feels good to know na may memories kang binabalikan.

until now choir pa rin ako sa simbahan samen, running 7 years na nga kami. ako at ang mga graduates ng SOM, but sad to say ako na lang at dalawang 2nd batch ang active na kumakanta.. ang ibang members namen mga hobby talagang kumanta and that includes my husband and his cousin
thata.

and im wishing na sana our dear Yena will sing with us too. hindi dahil trip ko lang.. kasi daw when we sing during the mass it is the highest form of prayer.. its like praying twice. and the family that prays together, stays together. doing the equation.. the family that sings together, stays together times two! ;)
