Weather Advisory Typhoon “Isang”

At 4:00 a.m., today, the center of Tropical Storm "ISANG" was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 150 kms East Southeast of Aparri, Cagayan (18.0°N; 123.2°) with maximum sustained winds of 85 kph and gustiness of up to 100 kph. It is forecast to move West Northwest at 15 kph.

Extreme Northern Luzon will have stormy weather with rough to high seas. The rest of Luzon and Western Visayas will experience occasional to frequent rains and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough. The rest of the country will be mostly cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms.

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the Southwest will prevail over the rest of the country and the coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

PAG-ASA forecast revealed that Tropical Storm “Isang” will move northwest towards Laoag, Ilocos Norte and Basco, Batanes. Tropical Storm “Isang” is expected to affect Philippine Area of Responsibility until Sunday (18 July 2009)
