Tips to Lose Weight

Follow these five simple steps and you will be heading to a Slimmer You in just a few days!

Drink Lots of Water
Water can be the best answer to all our health problems. The healing power of water can clean the body inside and out. It can be a great factor in eliminating the waste products and flushing away toxins inside our body. If you’re drinking lots of water more often, the body will have a pattern of storing it and you are now teaching your body that he doesn’t need to store much of it. Water retention equals unwanted weight. If you want you can have some fresh fruit juices for your satisfaction.

Eat Early
The stomach digests food faster when we are still awake. If you eat late and sleep at once, the food you have eaten will not be digested well and will be converted into fats. It will be safe if we eat our dinner 6 pm so that it’s already digested when we sleep.

Eat lightly
It is obviously that the smaller we eat the easier to digest. It is also good that we eat lightly every two hour after meal so that our hunger will not be so intense. The hungrier you get, the more you will eat.

Balance your diet
Our diet should have a balance of organic sources of lean protein, complex carbohydrates, whole grains, legumes, nuts, fruits, and vegetables. Instead of white rice and pasta, opt for brown rice, bulgur, millet, or buckwheat. Green leafy vegetables and fruits are always good in our health. Avoid fatty salty and processed foods because some of it adds toxins in our body.

Exercise more frequent
Lack of exercise is the main reason we are gaining lots of weight. Exercise helps speeding up our metabolism and burning excess calories. It also strengthens our muscles and adds beauty to our figure. Walking is the best exercise but if we are trying to lose more weight then we should exert more effort to a more active exercise like basketball or badminton.

Have you heard about DXM?

Linking to the death of Michael Jackson is the drug named DXM or dextromethorphan. As per Wikipedia Dextromethorphan (DXM or DM) is an antitussive drug. It is one of the active ingredients used to prevent coughs in many over-the-counter cold and cough medicines. Dextromethorphan has also found other uses in medicine, ranging from pain relief to psychological applications. It is sold in syrup, tablet, and lozenge forms manufactured under several different brand names and generic labels. In its pure form, dextromethorphan occurs as a white powder.

Side-effects of dextromethorphan includes body rash/itching, nausea, drowsiness, dizziness, fever, vomiting, blurred vision, dilated pupils, sweating, hypertension, shallow respiration, diarrhea, urinary retention. Dextromethorphan can also cause other gastrointestinal disturbances.

The death of other Hollywood celebrities including Michael Jackson, Heath Ledger, Anna Nicole Smith and Brad Renfro are being connected to a combination of medications prescribed by their doctors. What scares me is the thought that almost anyone can buy OTC drugs like DXM without prescriptions and when combined with another medicine will cause you your life!

Do NOT take Shrimp or Prawn when taking Vitamin C

This is a forwarded email from my dear blogging friend Ria. I think i have to post it for everybody else to know.
Taiwan, a woman suddenly died unexpectedly with signs of bleeding from her ears, nose, mounth and eyes. After a preliminary autopsy it was diagnosed death due to arsenic poisoning death. Where did the arsenic come from?

The police launched an in-depth and extensive investigation. A medical school professor was invited to come to solve the case.

The professor carefully looked at the contents from the deceased's stomach, in less than half an hour, the mystery was solved. The professor said: 'The deceased did not commit suicide and neither was she murdered, she died of accidental death due to ignorance!'

Everyone was puzzled, why accidental death? The arsenic is of the U.S. military for carrying rice seedlings H Gao. The professor said: 'The arsenic is produced in the stomach of the deceased.' The deceased used to take 'Vitamin C' everyday, which in itself is not a problem. The problem was that she ate a large portion of shrimp/prawn during dinner. Eating shrimp/prawn is not the problem that's why nothing happened to her family ever though they took the same shrimp/prawn. However at the same time the deceased also took 'vitamin C', that is where the problem is!

Researchers at the University of Chicago in the United States , found through experiments, food such as soft-shell shrimp/prawn contains a much higher concentration of - five potassium arsenic compounds.

Such fresh food by itself has no toxic effects on the human body! However, in taking 'vitamin C', due to the chemical reaction, the original non-toxic - five potassium arsenic (As anhydride, also known as arsenic oxide, the chemical formula for As205) changed to a three potassium toxic arsenic (ADB arsenic anhydride), also known as arsenic trioxide, a chemical formula (As203), which is commonly known as arsenic to the public!

Arsenic poisoning have magma role and can cause paralysis to the small blood vessels, "mercapto Jimei", inhibits the activity of the liver and fat necrosis change Hepatic Lobules Centre, heart, liver, kidney, intestine congestion, epithelial cell necrosis, telangiectasia. Therefore, a person who dies of arsenic poisoning will shows signs of bleeding from the ears, nose, mounth & eyes.

Therefore; as a precautionary measure, DO NOT not take shrimp/prawn when taking 'vitamin C'.

Lap band Surgery - Key to Weight Loss

Lap band is becoming more popular nowadays. With obesity problems on the rise that has the higher risk of related health problems and premature death, my friend who has been struggling with his weight for years has now come to terms in ending it through laparoscopic technique that is very fast and simple. Laparoscopic adjustable gastric band procedure involves using a silastic band to create a smaller stomach pouch, this will cause patients to become full after eating a least amount of food.

As he is so scared of any operation, he agrees to undergo lap band surgery because he is covered by PPO insurance and can go home right after the operation. As the lap band is 100% reversible and adjustable, he will not feel any hunger and there is no need for another set of diet regimen. He is telling me that he cannot wait for his surgery done just by reading the lap band testimonials from patients who undergo the same operation with their lap band before and after body. I know it will be much more of a benefit to him and to his health so am supporting him all the way!

FYI: Salmonella

Salmonella are a group of different strains of bacteria that can contaminate almost any food, causing diarrhea, abdominal pain and fever. Scientists are still learning why the microbes are so problematic. One reason is that they have evolved tricks to get around the human immune system.

Foods to stay away from:
Lettuce, chicken, tomatoes, peanut butter and now pistachios.

Our best defenses
:

* Don't eat raw or undercooked eggs, poultry or other meat. Pink in the middle? You're at risk.
* Uncooked meats should be kept separate from produce, cooked foods and ready-to-eat foods.
* Hands, cutting boards, counters, knives and other utensils should be washed thoroughly after touching uncooked foods. Hands should be washed before handling food, and between handling different food items.

Another lesser known source of contamination:

Pets. Reptiles, including turtles, are prone to pack salmonella on their skin. Ducklings, birds and chicks can pack it in their intestines and infect their surroundings. Children can be exposed to the bacteria by simply holding, cuddling, or kissing the birds!

Effects of Cold Water

For those who like to drink cold water, this article is applicable to you. It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion. Once this "sludge" reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine. Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.

A serious note about heart attacks - You should know that not every heart attack symptom is going to be the left arm hurting. Be aware of intense pain in the jaw line.

You may never have the first chest pain during the course of a heart attack. Nausea and intense sweating are also common symptoms. 60% of people who have a heart attack while they are asleep do not wake up. Pain in the jaw can wake you from a sound sleep. Let's be careful and be aware. The more we know the better chance we could survive.
