Have you heard about DXM?

Linking to the death of Michael Jackson is the drug named DXM or dextromethorphan. As per Wikipedia Dextromethorphan (DXM or DM) is an antitussive drug. It is one of the active ingredients used to prevent coughs in many over-the-counter cold and cough medicines. Dextromethorphan has also found other uses in medicine, ranging from pain relief to psychological applications. It is sold in syrup, tablet, and lozenge forms manufactured under several different brand names and generic labels. In its pure form, dextromethorphan occurs as a white powder.

Side-effects of dextromethorphan includes body rash/itching, nausea, drowsiness, dizziness, fever, vomiting, blurred vision, dilated pupils, sweating, hypertension, shallow respiration, diarrhea, urinary retention. Dextromethorphan can also cause other gastrointestinal disturbances.

The death of other Hollywood celebrities including Michael Jackson, Heath Ledger, Anna Nicole Smith and Brad Renfro are being connected to a combination of medications prescribed by their doctors. What scares me is the thought that almost anyone can buy OTC drugs like DXM without prescriptions and when combined with another medicine will cause you your life!
