Update on Typhoon Pepeng

Received an email from a UNILAB employee just this minute. All UNILAB employees were permitted to go home at this early to prepare for the coming Supertyphoon Pepeng. Some of her words struck me as i wanted to go home at this very minute too, i just hope our management can get to read this one.

On her email she said:
As of now, Pepeng is classified as type 5 hurricane same as Katrina. It's a tropical cyclone already not anymore a storm. It has entered Philippine area of responsibility already. Critical hour is 9 PM tonight. Storm is expected to bring in strong winds (stronger than Milenyo) and rainfall also. Although the eye of the storm will not hit Metro Manila, it's tail/part of the storm's body will.

This list below is her list of a MUST to do esp during this time of SUPERTYPHOON PEPENG. You might found this beneficial too..

~ Almost all supermarkets now are not accepting credit cards/ debit cards because some of the lines are still busted. So withdraw enough cash now.

~ Since the new typhoon is expected to bring in strong winds, meralco will most likely shut down power.. The usual, charge everything you need. If you have 2 phones, don't use both at the same time.

~ Shut down your circuit breakers (it's dangerous to keep your circuit breakers on during a wind storm even if it's brown out because electricity might surge or something?)

~ If your house is gated, get out as soon as the water reaches knee level because at that level, it will be very difficult to open your gate and evacuate.

~ Have ziplocks ready so that just in case, you can put your valuables inside and it won't get wet.
