A Brave New Shopping World

When shopping for the perfect jeans or new polo shirt, it used to be one had to drive to the mall and head for the Gap or Old Navy store. These days, no driving is necessary. A person can go online and access a world of fashionable options with just a click of the mouse. Gap.com is right there on your computer screen offering every last hoodie, handbag and yoga top you could possibly find at a brick and mortar store...and then some!

But, attention, Internet shoppers, even better news in Aisle 9! Before you head towards a virtual shopping spree, you can find Gap coupon codes to stretch those Internet dollars! What is a coupon code, you ask? Also called 'promotional codes,' coupon codes work just like those discount coupons your mom used to cut out of the newspaper and take to the grocery store for deals on her weekly shopping. Only with coupon codes you use online there is no need for newspaper, scissors, or a purse full of bits of paper. A coupon code is like a secret password, such as "MYCARD" or "GAPTHANKS" that you simply enter when prompted on the checkout page of the Gap website.

You can find these marvelous little helpers on sites such as Savings.com or Retailmenot.com where savvy shoppers exchange information about the latest online shopping deals. There are coupon codes for free or flat rate shipping, monetary ("$10 off Your Next Order!") or percentage ("30% off Our Collection!") discounts, and even cross-company deals between the Gap family of stores: Banana Republic, Old Navy, Gap and Piperlime.

One word of caution, though: just like the grocery store coupon, online coupons almost always include an expiration date. So be sure to check that your coupon code is up to date, and that no other restrictions apply for the offer.
