Still sick

Cefixime on the 21st of feb, Zithromax since the 5th of march, fever that last for almost 4 days and coughing all night long like an elderly until today, My daughter Yena is still sick and am so worried.

Her pedia, who prescribed all the medication above told us that she will have to be admitted to the hospital when there is no changes in her condition. We suggest to let yena had xray or any lab tests done, but the pedia declined. She told us it would be better to observe until yesterday. But yena is not getting any better. I hate it (no matter how reputable her name on the hospital is) when she prescribes yena dosage of medicines on our every visit without even checking on her thoroughly.

Now, instead of having yena admitted to a hospital. Hubby and i will try to look for another pedia (will be yena's fourth!)

Am about to go to office now but after hearing her cries, am calling it a day with her on her fourth pedia. I just want my daughter to get well. I hope my superiors understand.

Niko, am sorry to hear about and Yena being sick. I can imagine how her pedia can prescribe medications without checking what really is going on. No wonder, Yena is not getting any better. I would do the same if I were you. We just change Jake dentist since the last one want him to go for a surgery; thank goodness we switched to a new dentist, now Jake teeth is better without surgery needed. Sometimes you need second opinion because of some kind of doctor who doesn't care with their patient. I hope you and Yena will feel better soon. My prayers are with you both.

Sorry to hear that Yena is not feeling well...I hope she feels better soon.Ate Ces is right--Yena might need a second opinion to make her feel better.

Kids cannot have anti biotic all the time. before they can prescribe 2nd anti biotic they need to know what's wrong with the child so they can give the right medication. I am glad you are going to look for another Pedia. I hope it's not soemthing serious. take care...and kiss Yena for me..

hay nku naman ung pedia na un! nku, nagworry talaga ako for Yena! I've been there so many times Niko! Gabby is so sickly kasi kaya naka-ilang pedia na ko, as in lagpas na 10! kakahanap ko ng best pedia! I found two na, dito sa Makati Med. I don't like kasi pedia na bsta na lang nagrereseta e, dpat check up tlaga! Ung pedia ng kids ko, thorough talaga tumingin. kaya pag pumpunta kmi for check-up, ang haba ng pila sa knila, kasi nga magaling. ska di bale ng matagal kami maghintay (since mejo mtagal nga ung bwat appointment ng kids sa kanya) kasi nga talagang binubusisi niya ung tingin niya. when she listens to their chest, mtagal ska every side! pati mouth, ears, nodes, etc! ung ang maganda di ba?

dati nga, isang tingin niya pa lang ke Sunday, alam na niyang ic-confine na e.

hayy...don't hesitate to ask for a second opinion Niko. E I think higher generation na ung mga antibiotics na yan e.

Sige, let us know ha kugn kmusta na si Yena, nalulungkot ako everytime I hear or read na me sakit ang babies, ang hirap kaya un?

Hi Niks! I'm so sorry about your little girl's health condition. You really need to go for a second opinion. Someone who will take time to check on Yena and will make it easier for you guys.

I want to recommend some hospitals sana...its quite expensive, but they have the best doctors.I'd be happy to recommend my son's pedia too, just leave me a message if you're interested.
My prayers are with your family...

hello mare, am back and so sorry to hear about your cutie YENA, uuummm can't afford to see myself children sick as well, if pwede pa nga lang noh na sayo nlng sakit nya, kc nkkawang tingnan and it makes you feel guilty na you both feeling perfectly fine while Yena is suffering.... cge lang mare, God will heal her and she'll soon be fine... just don't loose your hope and will pray for you too...

By the way, how's your new home? I bet you like having your own place right? congratulations for finally having your own time and space, like I said there's no other place like your own!!

Musta na beauty natin dyn mare? have really missed you a lot.. babawi me this time, dami ko nang na miss na mga tags...:)

Yes we were back the other day so sooo tired, that we had to stay overnight again at my in-laws place, which made me ever more tired ewan ko ba... ang haba ng lakaran na ginawa nmin instead of enjoying our vacation, pero kng hndi lang ako buntis I'm sure it was fine, masama nga loob ko kc mga in-laws ko sarili lang nila gusto naming alalahanin lagi, without even considering my situation! kya bandang huli iyak ko tlga as in kc pagod na pagod na ako at ayaw pa nilang tumigil at kng hihinto ako ayaw na nilang tumuloy which was giving me an impression na ksalanan ko if hndi nila mapnthan lhat ng places they'd liked to visit! Last day nmin nagsalita tlga ako sabay iyak, sabi ko kayo nlng iwanan nyo nlng ako somewhere, pero ayaw dn nila at after non, father in-law ko hndi na ako kinausap...

Sama2 tlga ng loob ko mare while sakit ng tiyan ko (nagreklamo tlga baby ko mare as in), plus ang akin unending contraction which is akala ko tlga makukunan n nman ako!! gusto narin snang mgalit ng hubby ko sa knila pero iniwasan nrin nyang magksamaan ng loob dhil mga matatanda na nga!!

Well, at least sa susunod alam ko na gagawin ko, kng magyaya cla ayoko nang sumama pa! don't get me wrong pero mababait dn nman cla in general, cguro ung time lang na un kc sabi nila they've had to enjoy kc minsan lang daw cla mkklabas since inaalagaan dn nila grandson nila, pagkakataon daw nilang mag enjoy since 1 week holiday ng mommy ni Alfie which was fine...

haayyy like ng mga in-laws... anyway, thanks for listening to my dramas, hope you won't get tired of listening to me..hahahahhah

Catch you later mare, hugs and kisses to Yena, bye for now and God bless you always...regards to hubby...

I am sorry to hear that Yena got sick. I know the feeling of a mom if their kids got sick.

Does Yena have infections? Why the pedia had given some Anti-biotic? Too much anti-biotic can damage the liver, kidney, and heart rhythm disorder especially at this young age.

The only thing i know if the child has wide variety of bacterial infections, such as respiratory tract infections, middle ear infections, skin infections, urinary tract infections, and tonsillitis.

check this website: To know more about the side effects. http://www.medicinenet.com/cefixime_tablets-oral/article.htm

If she's still playing and eating it means she's okey. But if there's no changes of her condition. Don't wait bring her to the hospital. Before it's too late.

I will pray for Yena.

When my daughter got sick few weeks ago, I experienced the same thing. I jump from one pedia to another because my daughter was not getting any better. I am thinking that the doctors were just guessing on the prescription they were giving. Finally, someone recommended a pedia from a reputable hospital, though the fee is much higher that the other pedias, I tried it. The pedia also gave zithromax (quite expensive antibiotic huh!) but thank God, after the third day, the fever finally left my daughter.

I am now in conclusion that gone are the good Filipino doctors. They are already serving other nations. But can we blame them?

fedhz Monday, March 30, 2009 9:16:00 PM

Cefixime? sounds familiar.. un ata ung antibiotic ko when I had my worst case of UTI, as in naka-dextrose na ko at admitted sa hospital.

ang hirap pag bata ang nagkasakit. Hope she's okay now. late ko na nabasa ito.
