I will be back to work tomorrow after five months of just staying at home with my two daughters. I am excited to be working again BUT i feel terribly sad thinking about my little baby bubbles, who wants to be breastfeed and doesn’t like feeding bottles. :(

It’s the same feeling I felt when I went back to work after 78 days when I gave birth to my first born. But I guess this is more intense since I have to leave two kids now. I can imagine how tomorrow would look like – I would certainly go back home as soon as the clock ticks 5pm. I don’t wanna cry but the thought of leaving my 2months old baby is just too much. I will miss her every minute. :(

Why you should not depend on your SSS Sickness Benefits

On my 7th month of pregnancy, I was advised by my OB to take a leave at work since it would be detrimental on my baby’s health. I am already experiencing premature labor and felt a lot of pains on my abdomen from time to time.

So I took a leave and asked our HR Department on what to do for filing my SSS Sickness Benefits for the two months I would be on leave before my scheduled CS operation in November. So it was filed first week of September. I remembered clearly that my OB put 69 days on my sickness leave. After completing all the requirements it was submitted to SSS by our HR Dept. I was told that it will be paid a month or so and the highest that SSS can pay is P450/day.

You know why you should not depend your life on this SSS benefit? I was paid two months after – not for the 69 days we filed but for only 30 days! The payment was reimbursed to me by my company together with my maternity benefits. I wonder when will the payment arrive IF i am not employed. Maybe it would take a year? If I don’t have a husband who work and blogs to depend on our daily finances we could have been begging alms on the street on that whole two months. Sadly.

So if you want a worry-free future, I guess it’s better to have insurance other than SSS. Sadly it cannot be depended for a secured future.

Five Years and Counting

I have been blogging since year 2006, the first few months was for personal reasons but two years after I started monetizing my blogs and I admit blogging has helped us a lot financially. From one blog I have ten blogs now! I guess I embraced blogging so much that it has become a part of my family. My husband learned to blog and owns a couple of blogs too. I know how contagious it has been since I was able to convince my sister to start her own blog and she did.

One of the reasons why I stick to my blogs is for monetary reason, it gives me opportunities (or ops as what we call it) to write about anything and get paid by doing so. One of the most used expressions in our house is ops, husband and I usually would talk about ops over meals. So funny how it has become famous that I heard my daughter tell me, “am not yet done with my ops mom!” while facing her make believe laptop.

If you want to start a blog and want to monetize it, start with getting a good domain name and a dependable webhosting site. I guess that’s the most important thing to consider. The first few months with blogging could be difficult and blogging terms could be alien to you, there are a lot of terms to learn from and you can find all of them online. Dirty Carpets and Your Child's Health

How Often to Clean

Vacuum often, at least once a week, and invest in professional carpet cleaning equipment rental or hire a professional at least twice a year. If you have pets, you will need to clean your carpets more often than pet-free households; you will also need to clean more regularly if you smoke in your house or subject it to other chemicals or fumes. Four Years Ago

The best is yet to come; that’s husband and I’s favorite motto through the years and I guess the best has been arriving year after year after year. After we surpassed the storm, it has always been a smooth journey, it has been a wonderful joy ride with the man I love all these years.

We didn’t stay the same. In fact, we have changed a lot. But the changes have been for the good. He is completely a changed man and I believe I have changed too. Or maybe I have been more understanding of him or he becomes more patient of me. Or vice versa. Maybe the years have made us know each other more and more and lead us to embrace our flaws and appreciate our littlest differences.

It has been four years but it all seems like yesterday when we both said I do. If I would settle on the sad part of my wedding day, I wouldn’t be writing how thankful I am for having him in my life. Sure it isn’t always happy days but having him makes all these years worth it. Loving him has always been worth the risk and I wouldn’t change a thing if I have to choose again.

Nesting at Home

Since I am feeling pain from time to time on my lower abdomen, my OB advised that I should take an early leave from work to avoid baby number 2’s untimely arrival before November. She asked me to think about it, since I will be on leave from work for two months and maternity leave for almost three months, that would mean almost 5 months of nesting at home.

Nesting does not mean i will be a queen at home, staying at home means also sacrifice. A lot of sacrifice but if it's for the baby's sake husband and i would always say yes. I was monitored for my sugar level and had 100g OGTT (Oral Glucose Tolerance Test) yesterday and it was painful. I am scared of needles but were able to pull off the test with flying colors, 5 blood extractions on both hands seems so easy peasy for me, i am getting brave with needles already. ^_^

Started the nesting yesterday and I feel a lot better. I hope and pray that baby number 2 will be just fine and she will be out healthy on November.

It’s a Girl!

I cannot believe it when the ultrasound showed am having a girl, all along husband and I thought we’re having a baby boy. Feels so down especially when we’re both set to seeing blues and greens this time and we have been handing down yena’s little dresses to her cousins. Plus we have also thought of baby boys names.

I thought it’s selfish to wish that the baby should be a boy considering the fact that I have been praying for her/him to be healthy. I have been feeling some difficulty lately and I cut down my days of work as advised by my OB, husband and I decided that I should not go to work on Mondays (the hardest day to go to work since the buses are all jam-packed and I cannot anymore endure standing up on the bus!) but I wasn’t able to go to work last Friday as I cannot even move or stand up. I feel a lot of pain in my lower tummy and the baby seems to setting way below my tummy that it hurts.

I guess I need to follow my OB’s advise, to have a full bed rest before the baby arrives. She has been telling me to think about it this week. Two months of bed rest to ensure baby number two’s good health isn’t too much to ask. I can give up my work (my life even!) for her, if I have to.

On Preterm Labor and Complete Bed Rest

I felt a sudden pain in my tummy friday morning at work and decided to call my OB right away. She said I should go to the nearest ER, but thinking I should go and see her directly, husband and I seemed to fly from Makati to Lasalle Dasmarinas to have baby number checked.

The OB said, I felt a pre-term labor and needed to have some bed rest for at least one week. And if possible I should start working from home to prevent another pre-term labor from happening. I am only 22 weeks pregnant and it would be risky to travel everyday to work like I used to.

Thinking of the work I left so suddenly I requested to the OB if I can have a rest until Monday. I feel so unfair to request that not thinking of risking baby number 2, so when my boss told me that it’s ok to take a rest I decided to have a complete one week bed rest. So am home bound since Friday, resting on my bed since weekend and up til now…

I wonder what else I can do aside from sleeping and browsing FB. I hope typing a blog post to update my blogs is somehow a ‘rest’. ^_^

Finally Found

Husband’s cousin recommended her OB that has a clinic in St Paul Hospital in Cavite, so off we went to the hospital last weekend. After waiting for a few hours, I was able to meet a very fine doctor, accommodating, caring and most importantly younger than my two previous OBs. She seems to enjoy doing her job, talks gently and advices very professionally. In fact, husband likes her too coz she is so well rounded, answers each of our questions with much honesty and jokes around when needed.

So after days of searching for a new OB, I finally found the one! The coolest OB I have ever met. If you’re looking for a new OB, check out Mrs Carmelita Nadal-Santos at St Paul Hospital or Asia Medic Hospital.

On the Other Side

I have complained a lot on how extinct the gentlemen species are nowadays. That the pregnant me has to stand up on the bus while the man are chatting loudly while sitting or sleeping soundly just as soon as they see me coming.

I guess I can write about that tirelessly but what good it would cause me. Nothing. I will just feel depressed that the future generation will see that as ‘normal’. But I can still do something, it’s not too late to teach my daughter, her cousins and this baby inside me some GMRC and empathy and caring for other people. Yes, that’s not yet too late.

So every time I have to endure standing up in the middle of the bus, I thanked God for all the time I was able to sit. I learn how to appreciate the softness of the seat and that it’s good to sleep while leaning on something soft going to work. I learn to appreciate little things and learn not to complain.

Plus I will not be able to observe how fast our travel route is from South Express Way to Sky way when I sleep, so standing up means I can take some time to notice the surroundings and the beauty of the South. ^_^

Don’t hurry. Don’t Worry. And be sure to smell the flowers along the way!

Wanted: OB in Cavite

I don’t like my first OB on my first pregnancy. She was recommended by a friend but it was late to find out that she loves to do CS to her patients. So I decided to go to a different OB now that I’m on my second pregnancy, she’s also recommended by a friend so I told myself I will stick with her until I give birth.

Both OBs are old, must be very expert at their field, they are at their prime and don’t seem to enjoy much being an OB. I say so, because both don’t smile often and don’t give as much as advises to their pregnant patients. They seem irritated at little questions and look so intimidating. I have my monthly checkup with her and there were thoughts of my transferring to much accommodating OB but I told myself to stick with her and endure the nine months of seeing her unhappy face during consultation.

But I was so fed up last Saturday when I waited for three hours outside her clinic and when we finally met for less than 5 minutes consultation she answered my question sarcastically. I asked her what to do that I feel hurt every time I sit down, I feel that the baby might be so low considering the fact that I commute to work every day and sometimes stand up for hours in the bus. Mockingly she said, “buy a car, hire a driver or let someone carry you to work, or else ride an airplane or a helicopter and you won’t feel any pain!”

If she was younger I might have walk out of her clinic right away. But she’s so old to utter those words to her pregnant patient! Can anybody out there give me an OB that’s accommodating to simple question like that?!! I know there are a lot of accommodating and kind OB out there and it’s not yet too late to find a new one.

Where has all the Empathy Gone?

Husband and I had to stand on the bus from Cavite to Makati this morning. We had no choice since all the buses going to Makati were jam-packed. After thirty minutes of standing up, I had to ask husband’s shoulder as I need to nap. After fifteen minutes of feeling my stiffing limbs I straighten up my body once again only to feel my aching ankle. After an hour, I felt dizzy. I need to puke. But I was able to control the urge and went down few stops before my usual end route.

I am 16 weeks pregnant and no one offered a seat. There were lovers in front of me, who slept as soon as I stand up on their side and a lot of able men and women on their front seat and at the back. In fact, the bus population that time has a lot of MEN. But no one dared to give up their seat.

I would not, I swear to God. And this is not bragging. I have never tried doing that in my whole life time. If there’s an elderly or a pregnant woman or a less able to stand up individual in front of me, I would ask husband to offer his seat or I would stand up and take her place. That’s what was taught of me by my parents and teachers – and that’s what my conscience dictates.

I cried when I reach my work. I didn’t cry because no one offered a seat. I cried because along with the advancement of civilization and the fast paced progress of modern technology, goes the changing norms of people caring for people. Here goes the ‘I DON’T CARE ABOUT YOU ANYMORE!!!!’

And that’s a good thing! Maybe I will apply this to that site soon. Asap.

So maybe, this blog needs a revamp! I am still thinking of giving it a new domain BUT thinking of a new url for this means completing rubbing out the page rank (that has been high and low for months – pr3 the next pr2 the next day ^_^) plus I will be moving this to new domain, wordpress and new layout which means WORK. And I don’t have much time for that lately.

Pregnant!

Just so you know I am crying right now coz after months of waiting I will be a mother for the second time around! I cannot thank God enough for giving me this blessing. I am so overwhelmed. Thank you Lord!

I have been so used to seeing negative results on pregnancy test. In fact, I had my last PT first week of march. All of which I discreetly do to hide from my sarcastic husband – who teases me to no end every time it’s negative. So seeing two lines on a PT just now seems so peculiar. To say that I cried is the understatement of the year!

So I called husband right away telling him that he will be a father for the second time around. I know he has been wanting this to hear but he was so silent on the other end of the line. He said he’s in the state of shock. I told him I texted my sister on my way home coz I wanted to eat buttered shrimp and hot soup. But my sister, that girl didn’t get my text. So I was kind of sad. Now am realizing that I have been eating lots of shrimps already hihih.

And then after a few minutes husband called again telling me that he would buy me shrimps and cook my fave buttered shrimp! He woke up from the state of shock, finally.

Now I can’t wait to eat and eat and eat. And will have my check up asap!

And bout my yena? I told her the good news while pointing at my tummy. She was shocked and asked - WHAT'S ITS NAME??!! Told her since she's my baby number 1, we have to call her/him BABY NUMBER 2 and she agreed! :)

Rings on our Church Wedding

Soon husband and i will tie the knot for the second time around. My husband and I has been civilly married for several years now and we’re planning to have a church wedding to complete the ceremony in due time.

Bread Winner Forever

I am the eldest in the family. I have two siblings, a girl and a boy. I am a dreamer and I never stop dreaming not just for myself but for everyone in the family.

My mother and father both have their ailments and need consistent supply of medications. I have once dreamt of my brother wearing men’s nursing scrubs and hot pink scrubs for my sister. I saw them both as medical attendants taking good care of our parents. Sometimes I become paranoid of things but I am not losing hope- hope that in time we will be able to surpass all the problems that we are having right now.

Only if I can really sustain it, I want to see my brother wearing men’s medical uniforms in real life. I will let him take medicine, nursing or any medical courses which may help our family in the long run.
I believe I have been an obedient daughter ever since. I act as the bread winner of the family until now even if I already have my own. Yet I am not regretful about everything. All that I do at this point, I offer to my loved ones. I always want to see them happy. I don’t want to hear them in pain or even having difficulties in their everyday living.

Only if I can provide everything, I might get them spoiled in a way but that’s my dream for them - to have all the comfort and ease in life. I love them of course and I will always look back on how my parents have brought me in this world.

Life may seem tough at times but with my family beside me, I feel like I have got no problem at all. I guess my faith in God has a lot to do with it. Despite all the troubles and challenges that come our way, our Lord is there never failing to show love in any ways and continuing to shower blessings that His children needs.

Why the sudden change of heart? I was hurt. Erase that, i was mad. I was madly hurt.

I submitted my, NikoEras.com, my 10th blog with them the other day, it is pretty new coz i just recently put the blog on public mode. It was my private blog before. After a few hours they sent an email telling me that it was rejected because it is a spam blog. That hurts!

Maybe because the blog has a generic theme or maybe because the admin of entrecard that time confused my blog to spammy blogs out there. I sent an email right after clearing my thoughts and told them to retract their decision, it is not a spam blog in fact that blog would be my TRAVEL BLOG from now on since we travel a lot lately...

But there, i got NO REPLY from their end up to this very minute. And am losing my patience. To tag someone else's blog as SPAM is wounding most especially if the blog is one of the blogs of a part-time blogger who writes because it is one of the sources of her parent's monthly medication! MY PARENT'S MEDICATION!

I am not over reacting, i blog to make all ends meet for my loved ones so please don't TAG any of my blogs as SPAM or else... All hell will break loose!

The Signs?!

I have lots of stories to tell from our 9 days vacation in visayas two weeks ago. But what I cannot forget was the time we rode a ferry boat from Iloilo going to bacolod. My husband, my daughter and I survived the big waves and angry seas. The ferry boat seemed to be turning upside down. I thought it was the end of our lives.

I thank God for the second life.

I thought it’s the end for me and yena a while ago when the bus bumped the van we were riding home.

I thank God for the third life!

Maybe these are the signs. I guess, God is telling me to change my ways to the better… So if I have hurt you unintentionally – please forgive me. If I haven’t told you I love you lately – know that from the bottom of my heart I always do! And most of all, thank you… for everything!

The use of asbestos has been vaguely documented as far back as ancient Greece, but we know significantly more about the mineral because of its popularity in the 19th and 20th centuries. While that certainly shouldn’t create a cause for panic among travelers, it should at least heighten the sense of awareness about the age and condition of hotels, motels and inns that travelers may

Early mesothelioma symptoms are very similar to common illnesses, like a cold or the flu. It is generally a disease that occurs among men over the age of 55, but there are exceptions that the medical community is only now becoming aware of through intense studies of patients and Mesothelioma Symptoms. The disease has a latency period of 20 to 50 years, which makes it incredibly difficult to diagnose. But as more than 3,000 new cases of mesothelioma are diagnosed each year, it is believed that the number of patients could peak during this decade and after 2020. Such a factor could greatly increase a traveler’s risk of airborne exposure to asbestos, as well as the transference of fibers via clothing or food. Women and children have generally lower – if not incredibly rare – rates of diagnosis, but they are equally vulnerable.

Countries like India, China, Russia, and others throughout Europe still have no regulations for asbestos. Australia has strong regulations in place for asbestos use, but the country both manufactured and used the mineral vastly during the 20th century and it is still a great risk.

Even people traveling to or within the United States should do their homework and inquire as to what steps their hotels and other accommodations have taken in providing a safe and healthy environment for travelers.

One of the peak moments in a woman’s life is the part when her man, in the most unexpected situation, kneel before her, open a cute little box facing her and say, “will you marry me?”. Cheezy!

Well, just thinking about it, it is really touching to see a man who exhausted his efforts to make up the most memorable moment for his girl. Vacation Galore

I have been waiting for this day to arrive since June! We’re finally going on vacation tomorrow and I love it…. I can’t wait to see my father’s relatives in Aklan. I can’t wait to see Boracay for the second time and frolic the white sand beach with my husband and daughter this time. I can’t wait to meet mother’s relatives in Iloilo and I can’t wait to spend some time with my Mother in law’s relatives in Bacolod.

It will be one tiring vacation, hopping from one province to another but I look forward to it. This is a once in a lifetime experience for all of us. We certainly cannot do it yearly! We certainly cannot afford that, lol. So I’ll enjoy this to the fullest…

Going on Vacation

My father has type 2 diabetes and has been on maintenance of his medicine since his operation in year 2007. Sometime midyear of 2010, he stopped taking his medicines and eat a lot of carbs. Que horror! My mother who acts as his nurse complains of him being so stubborn. I talked to him and he said he is already 71 and diabetic and he knows that his time will come so all he wanted to do is to enjoy life without limit on what he eats or drinks and disregard his medicines since it will just be a waste of money!

When I asked him why, he said all he wanted to do is to spend some time with his siblings in Aklan. So I bribed him to eat moderately and drink his meds and I shall grant his wish of a vacation to Aklan! So by June I bought us tickets – for him, for my mother, my husband and daughter. And since it was a seat sale at cebupacific I also bought tickets for my mother in law, and yobib’s uncle and aunt so they can also visit their relatives in Bacolod after a looooong time.

If you think I have lots of money to be able to do all that, I don’t have! Husband and i work double time and blog (to earn extra!) to make all ends meet. We’re having a hard time with our finances too! But all I know is that there is no sum of money that can outstrip the happiness of seeing my parents and in-laws happy just by seeing their long lost relatives even for just a week. I just want to see them happy. I just want to at least give the oldies their much-needed vacation! So since June, husband and I started saving on our two coin cans – just to add for the pocket money of eight people… ^_^

It is less than two weeks before that and my pockets are still empty! LOL. And if you have been reading my blog – my mother’s doctor has been requesting to see her before our vacation for her endoscopy and its urgent. Plus, i still have reports to finish at work. Oh the patches and rough roads before the getaway… There are a lot of them.. They seem to get in the way huh ~

But the Lord is always good to me and my family. And I know that if He wills it, we will be in Aklan on the 19th!!!

My mother’s 64-slice CT scan shows no stone at her gallbladder and the three hepatic cysts on her liver are too small to worry about!

BUT there are still two laboratory tests to be done and an endoscopy (that costs P7,000-P8,000) to follow but still I am thanking God in advance for the miracle… I still cannot believe that there will be no operation for my mother and that we don’t have to prepare P100,000!!! ^_^

All my worries for weeks have flown to thin air already and this good news calls for a celebration!!!

Parang gusto kong magpainom ngayon! LOL

Test of Faith

I shared to few friends on how the Lord has been testing my faith this past few weeks and she said that yes, I am fighting battles left and right but the best thing for me to do is to surrender it all to Him. I cried. She’s right!

The battles started the day we arrived from our bohol getaway. My mother told me about my father’s condition, he has type 2 diabetes by the way. She said he has been complaining of tummy ache and had fever the days we were in Bohol and his urine has turned to color red. My mother, who seldom complains if she’s sick, was also sick that time. So both of them got a checkup and the lab tests showed that my father has UTI (urinary track infection) and his sugar has soared to 200+. The doctor gave medication and after a week my father’s sugar has normalized and the UTI faded away.

But we learned that my mother in law’s mother was dying in Kidapawan. So without a second thought, we booked for husband and MIL’s earliest flight to Davao the next day.

Just last week, my mother complained of a severe pain on her stomach. We sent her to a doctor near our place and the ultrasound showed that she has gallbladder stone and a hepatic cyst on her liver. The doctor advised for an operation. But I need to bring her to another doctor for a second opinion, so I brought her to the same doctor that took care of her and my father when they got sick last year 2007.

She’s advised to get a full abdomen CT scan and a lot of laboratory tests. The results of which make us nervous now. She had her CT scan and lab tests at UPMC last Monday. Even if I wanted to fast track everything, the doctors are having their holiday leave and will be back on January 3 and the waiting is killing me. It will be known on the first week of January 2011 if she has to undergo operation or not and the doctor said we have to prepare an estimate of P100,000.

The next day, we learned that my MIL’s mother in Kidapawan passed away.

When all this things are going on, I feel like a lost child asking for directions. Why all these things are happening to me and my family?! I know I should not be questioning His will. I don’t complain when the blessings are pouring in so what’s making me question God now that I am bewildered?

I know God won’t give me trials that I cannot bear. I have been through battles like these three years ago and did I ask the Lord on why He seems like forsaking me? I am LOVED by him and I know HE wanted me to go through this to know that He is there. That I cannot be a superwoman to handle all this alone, that I should not worry much and that I should surrender all these to Him.

And this test of faith, I shall pass with Him.

In Hiding

I was in hiding! There I said it! I was in hiding but now am all out in the open. Maybe I was a pearl in my past life, and I am certainly precious – it’s hard to get me out of my shell most especially when I am down and sick.

I pride myself on having the mind of a realist and the spirit of a believer. Granted, these two parts of my personality often find themselves at odds with one another in the life I try to lead. It isn't always easy to both think through things (and reject the nonsense) while still believing that pretty much anything can happen (especially things that usually don't). Still, I press onward, searching for some meaning to all of this stuff. Life can be so confusing; it's nice to occasionally find a place where I can both believe in something and think my way through something in a logical way.

I do believe that I have found the perfect place to combine these two occasionally warring traits of mine. Don't think I have lost my head, but I have taken up placing the occasional bet as a side hobby. Now don't call any compulsive gambling hotlines on my behalf; it is nothing more than a little bit of fun I have on the side. I never bet anything that I couldn't bear to lose, no matter how tempting it is at those sports betting sites to just lay it all down. That would be a silly way to sacrifice the old retirement fund.

After all, nobody wins every time, not even me. But it isn't for my lack of trying. I put the same level of effort into making the best possible bets as I put into everything else that I do, you know. No half hearted efforts on my part, when it concerns the money I sweat so hard to make in the first place. Luck must be really on our side, coz aside from the best accommodation we got from Whites and Greens Beach Resort, we had the best driver/tour guide that we will again be getting when we go back to Bohol next year!

Bohol Countryside and Panglao Tour in a Day!

This is just a quick recap of our 3days 2nights stay at Bohol. I will make a separate post on all the places we’ve been, the entrance fees on some tourist destinations in bohol and a review about Whites and Greens Beach Resort soon.

We spent our first day at the resort since we arrived at lunch time. My husband and daughter enjoyed the beach while I face my laptop in our cottage chatting with friends at facebook and prepare myself physically for the countryside tour the next day. On day 2, we started early at 8am and went straight to the Blood Compact Shrine, then met the smallest primate in the world the Tarsiers, walked hand and hand at the Hanging Bridge, enjoyed the cold breeze of winds at the Manmade Forest and learned the difference of mariposa and butterflies at the Butterfly Sanctuary and then head to the famous Chocolate Hills!

We had our buffet lunch and enjoyed the cruise at Loboc River, saw the huge 14 year old Python right after and then head at the two oldest Churches in Bohol, the Baclayon Church and Dauis Church. We also dropped by at the 4 biggest Ostritch Place before going to Hinagdanan Cave and Bohol Bee farm, where we had a taste of their malunggay ice cream.

We went back to the resort by 5pm and swim for almost an hour. It was a very tiring getaway but we had so much FUN! Bohol really rocks our world!

Honeymoon in Vegas

After my husband’s last post on his blog about our planned church wedding in 2017 I have dreams of going to Vegas for our honeymoon and spend a fortune playing in a microgaming casinos. That’s if we can step foot in Sin City in real life. But if not, I know we could see the place online or through google earth. I guess I can be contented with that.

I started the day with lots of cramming and stress and most especially prayers. The cramming and stress came after i read the message from my fave advertiser in the blogniverse - the message boils down to transferring to wordpress, leave my comfort zone blogger.com and have my own hosting.

and then I pray i could transfer my two new blogger blogs to wordpress (these are the two blogs am planning to add to the system) and the problem is that - i don't know where to start.

Until i buzzed two blogging friends over yahoo messenger who helped me with the transfers, designs etc etc. Now my food blog is under wordpress and has its own hosting. Ok, the host is the most recommended webhosting site so i shelled out my budgeted penny for that but no regrets. I LOVE the new look of my Plate and Me blog!

Fashionable Nurses on the Loose

The last time I visited a hospital was on my daughter’s scheduled vaccination almost two months ago. And the first thing I noticed is that, the nurses are now wearing a fashionable stitching that breaks the monotony of the usual nursing scrub uniforms . The whole hospital seems brand new with the new nursing scrubs tops that the nurses were wearing.

Even the assistant of my daughter’s pediatrician wears the new trendy nursing scrubs tops that doesn’t look like a uniform – she looks like a cool professional. While my daughter’s pediatrician who usually wears a white medical uniform beams with pride as she speaks of the new scrub uniforms available in the market especially designed for the work force in the field of medicine.

Evidently, it is a breakthrough embraced clearly by hospitals and medical facilities out there. So it’s not a surprise to see some medical uniform stores who offers fashionable nursing scrubs tops to keep with the in-thing.

Good bye to the usual white or blue tops that seems too loose or too tight. Hello to the scrubs uniforms that are tapered at the waist and flatter every figure. If wearing them makes the nurses feel good, this in turn will make them feel better of what they do. Serving the people while wearing a fashionable and comfortable cloth makes the work double the fun!

Talking about blogging and web hosting over the messenger seems to be the favorite topic for me and my online friends. We met through blogging and through the years have been copying notes from one another on what’s in or not – gossiping on the latest entertainment news, the best widgets to put on blogs’ sidebars or rating on what’s the best webhost so far. Because I have my hands full with my other 8 blogs! If not because of this blog’s PR of 3 I am seriously considering of transferring it to a new domain. And then finally submit it to p2b, my favorite review site in the blogniverse. ^_^ But no, I will let google decide on that. If the PR is gone – I will shift to a new domain in a swift.

So what happened to me lately? Husband and I celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary wet and wild at Medz Resort. It was a pool party especially dedicated to our daughter Yena who loves to swim. There’s no special event that happened lately except for the red and white roses plus ice cream I got last night from husband. Sweeter and lovelier through the years?!

And he has been asking me to start looking for sweet travel deals so we can celebrate our 4th wedding anniversary in Hongkong next year. Imagine that coming from my frugal husband!

Aside from the girly flair I have, I adore kiddie stuffs – much much of them especially when Yena joined us. Pink everywhere, from the baby bibs to bags. Even now that she is getting older, well, what can I do? I am used to it! I am even thinking to buy something with Oopsy Daisy Fine Art like framed displays or placemats. Hmm.. best gift for Christmas!

I am amazed how the combination of simple drawings and colors emphasize the kiddie styles. My Yena would really love it.. I mean, she is not into paintings or art but the pictures will really touch her senses to appreciate it as it enlighten me by mere looking at it.

Speaking of yuletide gifts, I chose The Chandler Collection of beddings for my Nanay. Its quality is for long lasting use, not to mention, the designs are distinct from the regular ones. Well, it is time for her to change that old linen and go for the quilts.

When it Rains, it Pours!

I spent Saturday at work finishing the commission reports that seemed to be endless. Going to work on weekends is not one of my favorite things to do but a slave like me doesn’t have the right to say NO.

So I’ve been stressed out last week until Monday! In fact, I went home very late on Monday night just to submit my reports. I was stressed out budgeting and contacting resorts to grant me discounted rates on our July Bohol getaway. To top it all, I was waiting for the sheriff’s email of approval for my 5th blog.

But everything went 360 degrees turn by Tuesday. The reports were submitted in a swift (no revisions and all), my 5th blog was accepted at my favorite advertising site and most of all I got a good deal for our July 2011 Bohol Vacation – free accommodation, free meal and hotel transfers for 4 days and 3 nights for all of us (5 adults + 4 kids)!

Moreover, and the sweetest deal ever – the owner of the resort offered an ALL EXPENSE PAID 3 days and 2 nights vacation for me, my husband and our daughter next month to where else?? BOHOL! Who could have thought I will celebrate my 29th birthday that grand?! Really?!! I must have done something good in the past to deserve such sweet deal! Almost Lost a Niece Yesterday at SM Dep Store

It was the last day of the 3-day sale at SM Dasmarinas yesterday, so my sister and I went there with no plans of buying anything but to just wander around. We missed SM Dasma and the kids had been missing their motorbike rides already. So off we went, my sister and her two kids, my cousin and another nephew plus yena and i.

After strolling the mall for almost two hours we decided to go home – only to find out a nice body bag that I can’t resist buying so Yena and I and my sister’s daughter Eya went inside the department store to pay. My sister was at another stall, and so we decided to just meet somewhere and that would be the time to go home.

So Eya and Yena were with me. The two girls were playing beside me while I was paying at the cashier but after a minute I cannot find Eya beside me anymore! I was panicky. Asked yena where her ate went and she just answered with ‘I don’t know’. So right then and there I asked every sales lady and guards who must have seen her. Somebody from their customer service assisted me and started asking questions. Told them over and over again – Eya is four years old, she wears pink all over and blue sandals. I was almost crying – I cannot - I will not forgive myself if I’d lost a niece! My sister won’t forgive me too – that I know!

After ten minutes that seemed like forever someone from customer service told me they found a little girl and brought her to the customer service – Yena and I were running to get there. We’re both praying that the little girl was Eya… I could have cried the minute I saw her – crying and her face was so afraid. Yena was the one who’s very vocal coz the moment she saw her ate she just said – ate kiss na! she must have missed her that much.. Thank God we found her back.

Rainy Day Gimmicks

Rainy days are here again. And that left us no option but to stay indoors. To fight the boredom away, we usually find some recreation by ourselves from whatever it is available at home. Playing tirelessly with Yena is one thing. How we enjoy watching her singing a familiar song on the top of her lungs. Someday soon, I will never be surprised she will be a total performer (a moody one i bet! LOL)

Also, our laptops make us so busy. Imagine how we do our own thing as we face the computer while Yena is checking on her Laplap. Needless to say, I am into blogging. For the past years, I can survive inside the house along with my laptop. It is like talking with my friends in a hologram. So, rain would never be a problem though.

Yobib is always occupied with sports. So, whenever at home, he catches ball games aired on TV. A friend once told me to try online sports betting since husband is a sports wiz. Selections of different ball games are available --- football, basketball, baseball, hockey or soccer. He added that there are a lot of reviews of virtual providers in internet which we can choose from. There are ratings and deposit bonus indicated therein. Well, I keep the thought of sports betting in case we run out of things to do.

Well, rain will be over as soon as we find it out.. We will never have to worry.

It was holiday last friday but we got up early to visit the mall to buy the mattress for my bed project. Yena usually rides the motorbike at the mall so hubs and i decided to bring his nephews so they could bond and enjoy some rides too. We went to the mall in our pambahay outfits and yena in her pajamas :)

Dearest Lolo,

I love you. I always pray to Jesus to heal you completely so you can walk with ease and would not use your cane when we go to the market. I pray for your complete healing, for you and lola’s long life and for good customers in your small business. When I grow up I could be your assistant, I promise.

I write to tell you that I love it every time you buy me ice cream, bread and banana. The ice cream is my most favorite in the afternoon. Since you don’t want to see me crying you would give in to whatever I like. I am kinda spoiled by you but just like kuya yael and ate eya, you are the only person we’re scared of (for good reasons or because we’re afraid of your cane hihih).

I asked you what do you like for your birthday but you just shake your head. Mommy said you wished for a vacation to Aklan and Daddy said we will go there by January. I know you are as excited as I am. I hope you enjoy your day and the chocolate cake and Lola’s yummiest pancit. And we will sing videoke! I know you like that! ^_^

Saturday at The Fort

We went to husband's office last saturday at The Fort. It was a scheduled flu vaccine for me and husband's youngest brother but the latter was so scared of shots we brought the three eager nephews instead. ^_^ The kids were so amazed on how tall the buildings at the fort, they enjoy this breathtaking view at the veranda.

No More Watching Magkaribal

Manuel died last night. He wasn’t able to tell Gelai that he is her real father. He wasn’t able to tell Victoria that Gelai is the sister that she has been looking for. Argh. Why do they have to kill manuel’s character?! Now I don’t like to watch Magkaribal anymore. Sigh.

Nightly since its pilot episode, I made it a daily habit to watch magkaribal with my daughter who learned to like the teleserye just lately. BUT tonight I won’t watch it--- Will try not to watch it. I am still sad since Manuel’s characters passing. Really, I am still sad up to now that I wasn’t able to do all my memes for this Friday.

But if you really know me – you know I will STILL peek on this show tonight. ^_^

PBW: In Your Eyes

Yena had sore eyes last sunday, by monday i got it and was not able to go to work since then. By thursday the husband got the bacteria too. So we had a mini-vacation at home - all the three of us. We were only able to go out of the house last saturday night for the choir's practice and sunday for the mass.

In Your Eyes rate for me is 7/10

Ok, for the rate of 7/10 i think In Your Eyes is a good film but i suddenly miss John Lloyd or Bea's acting since those two actors would certainly pull my feet to the cinema. Richard, Anne and Claudine are different actors i know but i have saw them on their best performances in the past so I expected a lot and i thought i would cry - but we i did not.

We were supposed to watch In Your Eyes or The Expandables last weekend but it was rescheduled for next sunday since almost all my girlfriends was into something beyond our control. And since i already promised Yena that we will go to SM, we brought her and her cousins at the mall for some bonding time.

Am used to having lots of kids around the house on weekends, we sometimes 'borrow' husband's nephews and nieces (we call them hator) and made our little house their playground...

And my sister's kids are usual guests at our house - so imagine a number of kids in a small house - RIOT! ^_^

But yesterday, we went out of the house with five very active kids in tow. So husband, my sister and I had a very tiring weekend at that! =)

PBW: Bonding at Sisters of Mary School

The usual picture taking happens right after the mass, and here's a picture of my family with our youngest niece Yushin. Look at yena's green-monster-face (she doesn't like mommy carrying another baby but her!)

She's all smile and back to her naughty-self when i assured her that she will always be mommy's little baby ^_^ and Yushin, joey and jean's daughter, is most loved because she is mommy and daddy's favorite youngest niece and she will be daddy's little girl too if that can fill up joey's absence. Am glad she understands. (i hope she understands) hihih

And under the scorching heat of the sun, we went to Sisters of Mary School, my beloved alma mater who's just 15 minutes away from where we live to bond with my batchmates...

The beautiful chapel behind us is where Fr Al, The Sisters of Mary founder, lies. He died March 16, 1992 and now in the process of canonization. We celebrated the 25 years founding anniversary of the school that helps the poorest of the poor get quality education not only here in the Philippines but also in South Korea, Brazil and Guatemala. And i am one of the product of this school, proud 1998 graduate! ^_^

Liham para sa aking Sarili (Letter to Self)

Mahal kong Niko,

Binabati kita! Akala ko ay magpapasa ka na ng resignation letter (ano sa tagalog ang resignation letter?) nung magsimula ang unang araw ng linggong ito. Pero kinaya mo. Alam kong nahihirapan ka na. Pagsabay sabayin ang pagiging adik sa blog (ano sa tagalog ang blog?), sa pagiging ina at asawa, at pagtatrabaho ng limang araw sa buong lingo ng higit walong oras. Puyat, pagod, sabay pa ang pagkaiyakin mo, napuno ka na… pero kinaya mo.

Kasi alam mong hindi pwedeng pagnahirapan ay aayaw na. Hindi pwedeng pagnapagod titigil na. Hindi pwedeng pag umiyak magdedesisyon ng bigla bigla at hindi pwedeng mag inarte dahil kelangan mong kumayod. Itigil ang drama (hindi ka naman artista!), itigil ang pag iilusyong manalo sa lotto (dahil di ka naman tumataya!), itigil ang pag wish (pakitagalog) na sana pinanganak kang may gintong kutsara sa bibig.

Kumayod ka! Daigin mo si kuracha (ang babaeng walang pahinga)!

PBW: Rainy Sunday

We spent our weekend at home since the weather can be very unpredictable. Yael, my nephew turned three today so the kids take turn in blowing the cake. ^_^ I love looking at them when they blow the candle endlessly. Kids have simple joy and its contagious...

After the tireless blowing of cakes we spent the afternoon watching The Buzz Showbiz Central and basketball. If our TV could talk, for sure it has lots of complaints most especially if husband holds the remote. What i love about rainy weekend is the nice talks with husband and yena's presentation of her many tricks over merienda of banana cue and coke.
